What is Radon Gas?
Radon gas is a colorless odorless gas formed by the decay of uranium deposits found in nearly all soils. In its gaseous form, radon makes its way up out of the ground into the air, and often times can find its way into our homes. Cracks, holes, and any gaps allow radon entry into the home where it can accumulate to levels that can cause health issues. Any home is vulnerable to radon gas penetration-new and old homes, well-sealed and drafty homes, and homes with or without a basement. The EPA estimates that 1 out of every 15 homes has elevated levels of radon gas.
